Single port laparoscopic breast-conserving surgery in treatment of breast cancer

Abstract: Objective To evaluate the curability and the aesthetic results of the single port laparoscopic breast-conserving surgery. Methods From November 2014 to June 2015, a total of 23 patients with breast cancer underwent single port laparoscopic breast-conserving surgery. All patients were diagnosed as early breast cancer, stage I and II. We estimate the radical and cosmetic result. Results Single port laparoscopic breast-conserving surgery was performed on 23 patients. There was no serious complication after surgery. The follow-up time was 23 months at maximum and 10.4 months on average. There was no locoregional recurrence or distant metastases. The postoperative esthetic results were excellent, most of patients expressed great satisfaction(20/23,87.0%). ConclusionSingle port laparoscopic breast-conserving surgery can be considered as a surgical procedure with good locoregional control, it can also provide esthetic advantages for patients with early breast cancer.
