Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of Yiqiwenyang-Huoxue herbs on the mortality of sepsis in rats. Methods Septic rats were divided randomly into seven groups (control group, middle and low dose groups of Yiqiwenyang, middle and low dose groups of Yiqiwenyang Huoxue, and middle and low dose groups of Fuzhengtouxie). The rats were intragastricly administrated at 2, 12, 24, 36, 48 and 60 hours after operation, and the survival conditions of rats were observed. Results The mortality of sepsis rats in Yiqiwenyang Houxue group was significantly lower than that in Fuzhengtouxie group and Yiqiwenyang group. Conclusion The deficiency of Qi and stasis toxin blocking collaterals are the core pathogenesis of sepsis.
