Cohort Study on Relationship between Psychological Health Status and Clinical Features in Patients with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome

Abstract: Objective To study the manifestations of depression in convalescent patients with SARS.Methods Dividing 246 SARS patients into the severe condition group(126 cases) and common condition group(120 cases).Compare the results between the 2 groups.SDS assessment was performed in the two groups.Results SDS quantity in study groups was significantly different;the depress condition was getting worse in discharged SARS patients compared with different stages.Conclusion SARS patients have severe psychological disturbance when coming back to society after long period of isolation even with recovery of the disease.The clinical features of SARS influenced the SARS patient's mental status.SARS patient should have psychiatry therapy after discharged from hospital.
