Abstract: Pruritic papular eruption of HIV(HIV-PPE) has become the common cutaneous manifestation in HIV-infected patients. HIV-PPE has a higher prevalence in tropic regions. PPE is characterized by chronic pruritus and symmetric papular eruptions. However, there is no clear consensus on the etiology of PPE and the pathologic findings. PPE is correlated with decrease in CD4 cell counts. The effective treatments for PPE are unavailable at present.
