Abstract:

By means of histochemical method, a comparative study on the effects of albendazole (Alb) and mebendazole(Meb)on histochemical changes of Cysticercus cellulosae in vitro after exposure to a dosage of 100 mg/L culture medium for 72 h was carried out.The experi ment enclosed three groups:Control group,Alb treated group and Meb treated group. The results showed that the contents of glycogen in tissues of the parasites in the groups treated with Alb or Meb were decreased obviously. The activities of succinate dehydrogenase and adenosine triphosphatase were declined apparently in two drug groups and more markedly in the Alb group than the Meb group. The activity of acid phosphatase was decreased slightly in the two drug treated groups, whereas the activity of alkaline phosphatase did not show apparently changes in the two drug treated groups.
