An Analysis of Large Bowel Polyps in 146 Elderly Cases

Abstract: This paper reported the clinical characteristics of large bowel polyps in 146 elderly cases (>60 ages) as follows.①There was a high incidence of large bowel polyps in elderly patients with intestinal diseases, accounting for 24.3% of the cases examined by colonofibroscopy in the same periods.②The most common histologic types of polyps were inflammational polyp (76.0%), large bowel adenoma (18.3%) and hyperplastic polyp (5.7%).③The incidence of complex polyps was 30.1%,and the polyps were distributed in more than two sections of colon.④The malignant change rate of adenoma was as high as 26.9%.
