Abstract: In conjunction with clinical symptoms, chest-Xray and pulmonary function, the pulmonary manifestations in 108 cases of primary SS were analysed with resultant injury of respiratory system in 57 cases, accounting for 52.8%, indicating that involvement of respiratory tract was of frequent occurrence in for this disease . The comparison of pulmonary function betweem patients with normal and abmormal chest X-ray revealed no significant difference, suggesting that damage of pulmonary function could not be excluded even when SS atients showed no respiratory symptom or no abnormal finding in chest X-ray. So the possibility of SS should be suspected of when interstitial lung desease was detected, so the chest X-ray and pulmonaty function examination should be taken as a routine performance in SS patients for early detection of pulmonary damage.
