Abstract: Objective To investigate the characteristics of acute myocardial infarction(AMI) in female patients, especially in pre-menopausal and post-menopausal women patients. Methods 324 female AMI patients were divided into two groups according to weather menopause or not and the time after menopause. The risk factors, clinical manifestation, complications and morbidity of in-patient 30 days were analyzed. Results Compared with post-menopausal women, the pre-menopausal had lower occurrence of hyperlipidemia(P=0.005, OR=8.151). Obvious chest pain had evident correlation with age(P=0.001, OR=0.881) and the years of menopause(P=0.025, OR=2.600). Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Heart failure(P=0.043, OR=1.081&P<0.001, OR=12.339) are independent risk factors to predict the morbidity of menopausal women with AMI. Conclusion There are different clinical characteristics between pre-menopausal and post-menopausal female patients, and particular measures in prevention, diagnosis and cure should be taken according to that.
