Abstract: The etiology and pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease is complex and involves many factors related to the interaction of genetic and environmental. Among them, the insulin resistance, abnormal energy metabolism, oxidative stress, inflammatory response and changes in autophagy process with catch up growth are widely recognized as risk factors of Alzheimer's disease. This article focuses studies on the catch up growth phenomenon in recent years, try to explore its potential relationship with Alzheimer's disease.

Key words: catch up growth, Alzheimer's disease, insulin resistance, abnormal energy metabolism, oxidative stress, autophagy
