Abstract: Objective To evaluate the differentiation of Th1 and Th2 CD4+ T lymphocytes of peripheral blood from lung cancer patients. Methods Interferon-γ(IFN-γ) and interleukin-4(IL-4) levels in CD4+ T lymphocytes of peripheral blood from 25 lung cancer patients and 25 healthy volunteers were detected using flow cytometry.IFN-γand IL-4 were used as markers for the differentiation of Th1 and Th2 subsets, respectively. Results IFN-γwas lower in CD4+ T lymphocytes from lung cancer patients than that from healthy controls. No difference was found for IL4.Conclusion The ratio of Th1 to Th2 subsets changed in lung cancer patients, which may be one of the mechanisms for the tumor to escape from the immune surveillance.
