Abstract: Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the changes of cytokines in the multiple organ dysfunction syndrome(MODS) animals. Methods 16 one-year-old male swines, weight 20~25 kg,were used for this study.Bacillius(17 million/kg) were injected into right jugular, and serum endotoxin and cytokins(TNF,IL-1,IL-6,IL-10,NO) were determined 1 h,3 h,5 h,7 h after injections. Results Serum cytokines were increased 1 h after injections with standard colon bacillius.Standard colon bacilius-induced changes in cytokine levels were time-dependent.Conclusion These findings provide some experimental basis for the clinical study of MODS.
