Nine kittens after a cordotomy on one side were lesioned respectivelyon the controlateral side to either the restiform body or the brachiumconjunctivum.Afterwards, the HRP was injected into the anterior orposterior lobe of the cerebellum respectively. After 3-4 days' survivaltime the animals were perfused and the retrogradely labeled neuronscaudal to L2/sub> were observed. The results were as follows:The columnof Clarke (CC,L3-L4)and the neurons in laminae Ⅳ-Ⅵ (L3-L5)sentuncrossed fibers passing through the restiform body. The dorsolateralnucleus (DL,L3-L5)sent crossed fibers projecting to the cerebellum bypassing through the brachium conjunctivum. The axons of theventrolateral nucleus (VL,L4-L5)and the spinocerebellar neurons inlateral part of lamina Ⅶ (L3-L4)had the same fiber courses as DL,but VL neurons only terminated in the anterior lobe. The fibersprojected by neurons in medial part of lamina Ⅶ (L6-Cal)were crossedand passed through the restiform body. The neurons in medial part oflamina Ⅷ (L3-L6)sent uncrossed fibers passing through the brachiumconjunctivum and projected to the anterior lobe. The ventromedialnucleus (VM,S1-Cal)sent crossed fibers by passing through therestiform body. The results in present study indicate that there existsome groups of neurons belonging to those of the dorsal spinocerebellartract (DSCT)in addition to neurons of the ventral spinocerebellartract (VSCT).

Electro-acupuncture stimulation of different intensity was bilaterallyapplied to rabbits'“Huantiao”points. The changes in concentrationof 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT),5-hydroxyindole acetic acid (5-HIAA),dopamine (DA)and norepinephrine (NE)were measured by means offluorometry.Concentrations of the four monoamines were found toincrease significantly in varying extent under strong stimulation;therewere an obvious rising of 5-HT and 5-HIAA but an obvious decreasein DA and NE concentration in case of weak stimulation and weak plusstrong stimulation. All these changes were statistieally very significantThe results indicate that the neural processes caused by the threedifferent means may not be completely the same and alterations inmonoamine concentrations can be evoked by these stimulations.Thissuggests that there is certain correlation between these chemicals andelectro-acupuncturing as well as noxious stimulation.Further study ofthe correlation mechanism is needed.

The content of trace elements in hair of 80 cases of sterilitas viriliswas determined with the ICAP-9000 emission spectrometer. It was foundthat there was no obvious difference in zinc content in hair neitherbetween the four kind of sterile male nor between the sterile male andfertile male.In this article the authors raised two questions fordiscussion:1)whether there is deficiency of zinc in the body of sterilemale,2)whether the zinc content in hair can reflect the zinc index inhuman bodies.

On the principle of“Multiehannal Signal Processing based on logicaveraging”described by Flowers et al in 1981,we have developed a newhardware and software system for real time recording of His-Purkinje activity on an every-beat basis. The methodology and concrete problemsof this new technique were discussed. There was a close correlation between spatial logic averaging methodand His bundle electrogram recorded by catheter electrode in 9experimental dogs before and after medication. It was proved that thenon-invasive every-beat recording of His-purkinje activity might be usedinstead of the invasive intracardiac electrode. We obtained 41 satisfactory real time beat-by-beat recordings ofHis-Purkinje potential from the body surface of 46 normal subjects andarrhythmic patients (multiple premature beats, atrial fibrillation andvarious A-V block patients),who accepted the spatial logic averagingexamination. The value of this new technique in clinical practice was demonstrated

From 1974-1984 among 1197 cases of AMI admitted into our hospital,262 cases were complicated with supraventricular arrhythmias with anincidence of 21.8%.The supraventricular arrhythmias in this group included APB,JPB,PSVT,Atrial Flutter and Atrial Fibrillation. The types, causative factors and prognosis were discussed and theresults revealed that supraventricular arrhythmias were significantly morefrequent in patients with congestive heart failure and not definitelyrelated to the location of AMI,the blood supply to the sino-atrial node, the occurrence of pericarditis and atrial injury. The mortality of AMI complicated with supraventricular arrhythmiaswas not different from that of the total group of AMI,but we consideredthat when supraventricular tachyarrhythmias especially atrial fibrillationand PSVT were secondary tn congestive heart failure, they could causethe cardiac performance to deteriorate further and the mortality toincrease significantly. If effective treatment with digoxin or cardioversion was promptlygiven to improve the cardiac performance, the mortality might bedecreased.

The finding of our studies showed that Grapevine Injection (GI)could inhibit the stretching response induced by acetic acid, increasethe pain threshold of electrical and thermal stimulation when it wasgiven to mice.Microdose injection of GI into the ventricles of brain ofmice resulted in significant increase of pain threshold, which testifiedthe site of analgesic effect of GI might be in the central nervous system.some other experiments confirmed that the analgesic effect of GI was notrelative to the morphine receptors, but was relative to the monoamine receptors.

This paper was based on 5 cases (5 ears)of chronic purrullent otitismedia and mastoiditis. All these cases were treated by tympanoplastythrough a combined approach with some modification.3 years' follow-upshowed good results in 4 cases.Audiometrical improvement wasachieved in 4 cases with a maximum of 27 dB.One case failed as a resulfof reperforation of the new drum due to infection. The cause of thefailure was briefly reviewed. The authors concluded that strict selectionof the patients and good technique are the key to success. What is more, the use of double irrigation tubes after operation is beneficial to thehealing of operative wound. In one word, this method is worthyof application in otosurgery.
