A Comparison of the Serum Contents of 9 Elements in Patients with Gastric Carcinoma and other Gastric Diseases

Abstract: The Se,AI,Zn,Cu,Fe,Ca,Mg,P and As contents in the semum of healthy individuals and patient troups of Gastric Cancer,Atrophic Gastritis,Gastric Ulcer and Duodenal Bulbar Ulcer were determined by the Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry.The results showed that the serum Se and AIlevels in all patients were lower than in normal subjects,the diferences being very significant.The Zn content in the serum of the Gastric Cancer group was lower than that of normal subjects,while the Cu content and Cu/Zn ratio were higher.The serum Fe level in Gastric Cancer was significantly lower than in the healthy controls,the Duodenal Bulbar Ulcer group and the Gastric Ulcer group.
