Abstract: Thirty elderly men with old myocardial infarction(OMI)were treated with an androgenic preparation, sustanon 250. The result showed that plasma atrial natriuretic polypeptide(ANP)level and serum testosterone level were elevated significantly(both P<0.001)and estradial/testosterone(E2/T)ratio was reduced(P<0.05)after 3 weeks of sustanon 250 injections, indicating that sustanon 250 can elevate plasma ANP level and redemy relative ANP inadequacy, as well as improve sex hormone disorder in elderly men with OMI.

Key words: androgenic preparation, ANP, old myocardial infarction, sex hormone
