Abstract: Plasma parathyroid hormone (PTH) level has been measured by radioimmunoassay(RIA) in 18 persons with normal blood pressure and in 30 patients with essential hypertension. The result suggested that PTHlevel was elevated in hypertensives[(86.5±40.2) ng/L] compared with normal tensive controls [(59.4±15.6) ng/L ,P<0.01].Continous relationship between PTH level and PRA in hypertensives, r=-0.385,P<0.05.
