Abstract: 5 cases of intracranial yolk sac tumors were researched and compared from testis yolk sac tumors. Morphological and immunohistochemical stain feature was observed with light microscopy. Microscopically there was a characteristic pattern with Schiller-Dural bodies, vacuolated network and solid nodular areas. Hyaline globules were also observed. With the immunoperioxidase technique, 5 cases AFP-positive, 3 cases PLAP-positive and 3 cases SP1-positive could be located in the tumor cells. HCG was all negative in 5 cases. Intracranial yolk sac tumor was frequently mixed with teratoma and germinoma. There was no observable difference between intracranial yolk sac tumor from testis yolk sac tumor, wherever morphological feature and immunohistochemical characterization.
