Abstract: The purpose was to observe the changes of cerebral blood flow at different position using the model of the cats with brain ischemia. The middle cerebral artery (MCA) of every cat was occluded after craniotomy firstly, The animals were divided into two groups monitoring cerebral blood flow (CBF) continuously by Laser Doppler flowmetry in two hours: Group 1 (n=6), at temporal cortex; Group 2 ( n=6), at occipital cortex. After the MCA was occluded, the CBF whether at temporal or at occipital cortex reduced quickly to 21.44% and 23.61% of the normal value consequently. The CBF decreased slowly in two hours and reduced to 15.74% and 9.96% at last. The CBF had no statistics difference in 0 h, 0.5 h, 1 h, 1.5 h, except at 2 h.The change of the CBF at temporal and occipital cortex has no statistics difference in cats with brain ischemia.
