Abstract: Objective To observe serum adiponectin levels in patients with hepatitis B and liver cirrhosis(LC),and explore the relationship between adiponectin levels and correlative factors. Methods A total of 67 patients with hepatitis B and liver cirrhosis were divided into A,B and C three groups according to Child-Pugh score.Serum adiponectin was detected by ELISA.At the same time, blood lipids, fasting blood glucose(FBG) and HBV DNA were detected. After measurement of the body height and weight, body mass index(BMI) was calculated.Twenty healthy adults were selected as normal control group. Results Serum adiponectin levels in patients with liver cirrhosis were significantly higher than those of normal control group(P<0.05 or <0.01).Adiponectin levels correlated with Child-Pugh classification. But,were not in correlated with serum lipids, blood glucose,HBV DNA and BMI.Conclusion Serum adiponectin levels in patients with hepatitis B and liver cirrhosis are significantly elevated, and adiponectin levels correlated with liver function reserve.
