Progress in studies on self-face processing in patients with schizophrenia

Abstract: Schizophrenia is a group of mental illness with unknown etiology, which has a wide range of cognitive impairment. The disease have different clinical manifestations, including perception, thinking, emotion, will obstacles and behavior inharmony. Self-disturbance is the core phenotypic marker of schizophrenia. The study of self-face recognition found that patients with schizophrenia have difficulties in identifying self-face, but no consistent results have been obtained on whether self-face processing is damaged.
