A Study on the Relationship between the Expression of Integrin αVβ3 and the Malignant Degree of Human Gliomas

Abstract: Objective To observe the expression of integrin αVβ3 in glioma and normal brain tissue and to discuss the effect of integrin αVβ3 on the invasion of gliomas.Methods 48 cases of glioma were verified by pathological study, including 22 cases of grade Ⅱ, 12 cases of grade Ⅲ, and 14 cases of grade Ⅳ. 13 cases of normal brain tissues were obtained from the removed brain tissues of patients who were injured. Antibody of integrin αVβ3 was used to stain glioma and normal brain tissues.Results In brain tissues, low grade gliomas and high grade gliomas, the expression of integrin αVβ3 became more and more stronger and there was statistical significance too.Conclusion Expression of integrin αVβ3 has a positive correlation with the malignant degree of gliomas. Integrins has a great effect in the development and invasion of gliomas.
