    Homotypic adrenal medulla were grafted into the denervated caudate nucleuses of the rats. It has been shown that the graft implanted into the rat brain survives and improves behavioral abnormalities.These grafted adrenal chromaffin cells contained catecholamines,as indicated by SPGmethod.Some cells retained the typical appearance of normal chromaff in cells,while other cells had undergone varying degrees of transformation toward the adrenergic-neuron phenotype.Most of those cells had become somewhat elongated or developed short coarse processes.Concentration of CA were studied by a spectrophotofluorometer using dissected host brain tissue. Concentration of dopaminc(DA)in the grafts were very high.So called “overamount”transplants were found to provide a more extensive behavioural recovery as compared with that receiving“anormalamount” The results of present paper were very significant for the future clinical application.

    The coodinates of the target point were determinated in the head of candate nucleus in 6 human corpses by the ventriculogram and the stereography techniques,they were 10 mm above and anterior to the interventricular foramen,on the lateral film.5 mm lateral to the mid-point at the lateral border of frontal horn of the brain ventricle,on the anterioposterior films.The depth of the target point were about 105mm. The experiments by 3 monkeys have evidenced that the selected operation passage to the target is safe and without damage to the adjacent important brain structures.

    Thresholds and conduction velocities of ortho- and anti-dromic responses were measured in dorsal column postsynaptic(DCPS)neurons in the cat in terms of unitary recordings,Along train of afterdischarges with long latency was shown in part of DCPS neurons in addition to a short train of initial discharges with short latency;no correlation was seen in thresholds or conducticn velocities between the ortho-and anti- dromic responses;and the thresholds in antidromic responses were significantly higher than those in orthodromic ones,although the conduction velocities in ortho- and anti-dromic responses were close, ranging in A-beta fibers,The results indicate that A-delta and/or C fibers involved in the presynaptc fibers of DCPS neurons;no matching exists between the pre-and post-synaptic fibers with A-beta size in the neurons;and the neurons' postsynaptic fibers drop hastily in size upon their termination.

    The sarcomere length at static state was investigated in whole sartorius muscle of toad using laser diffraction techniques.The distinct diffraction pattern on a screen which distance from the preparation was 160 cm could be obtained from all the preparations used.The sarcomere length was calculated by Bragg equation,which is related to the distance between the zero and first order lines on the screen. In the present experiments,it was confirmed the sarcomere length near the ends of the muscle was shorter than in the middle and the sarcomere length variation in the middle was extremely small.The sarcomere length of the slack muscle was 2.12±0.04μm(X±SD n=12). The maximum sarcomere length that the mnscle can be stretched was 3.65±0.25μm(X±SD n=12).When the muscle was fixed at the length in the body(functional position),the middle sarcomere length was 2.73±0.02μm(X±SD n=8)in vitro.This result was again confirmed in situ.

    The effect of Oxymatrine(OMT),isolated from Sophora flavescens Ait,on the hepatic microsomal drug-metabolism enzyme have been investigated.It was found that the content of cytochrome P-450 (P-450),the ethylmorphine N-demethylase,the p-nitroanisole O-demethylase and the benzo(a)pyrene hydroxylase activities were significantly increased in OMT(100mg/kg)-pretreated mice.The proliferation of smooth endoplamic reticulum of liver cells was also stimulated by OMT.The results indicated that Oxymatrine is a inducer of P-450.

    The VMS-Ⅲ System is designed to perform not only all those functions that can be provided by the existing stimulators such as digital stimulators,program controlled stimulators and others,but also additional functions.The user can program the system ot vary the amplitude and width of the output pulses or to change the output Waveforms.It has two separate output channels each subdivided into four output terminals.The System is composed mainly of a stimulator proper,of which the core is a Z80-CPU microprocessor and two photo- electric isolation units,of which the output drift is corrected with a self-correction technique to approach zero drift resulting in stable and precise outputs.The System has been continually in use for nearly two years without malfunction.It should serve as a valuable tool for medical research and for clinical diagnosis.

    we compared proteins,isoenzyme patterns of esterase(EST) and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)of different developmental stages of Taenia solium by PAGE.The results indicated that there were 4 bands of esterase isoenzymes in eggs and the numbers of band were the most. There were 4 bands of lactate dehydrogenase isoenzymes in the scolex-cyst wall complex,the cyst fluid and proglottids respectively,and one of bands appeared to be main and clear.It was found that components of protein of egg were most complex and there were 19 bands at least.The cyst fluid was rich in glycoproteins stained by PAS,but no glycoprotein in other developmental stages of Taenia solium was found,we also compared the LDH and EST isoenzyme activities of different developmental stages of Taenia solium.

    The thyroids of 15 patients in Grave's disease have been examined with immunohistochemistry.Thyroid of Grave's disease has typical variation in pathology.6 eases are positive with lymphoid follicle. The lymphocytes in the follicles have been marked by the enzyme labeled IgG.Two Tsaabs(LATS—B and LATS Tianjin)have been tested by serial immunoassay.LATS—B is the polyclonal immunoglobulin of IgG.LATS-Tianjin is not unitary IgG,also with IgM.By the ELISA,evidenced that the Gangliosides (Ⅱ,IV,Vtype)all combined with two Tassbs,IVtype with LATS—B is better than other.

    The chtomosomes karyotype analysis have been done by 10 brain tumors.The chromosome preparations were made from each tumor cells cultured during the logari-thmic phase.Endoreduplication was frequenty found in 8 tumors.4 out of 5 meningiomas have the typical karyotype showing *22 monosomy,3 of them showed chromosome aberration. 3 of the malignant glial tumor have showed same aberration as the 3 meningiomas but the neartetraploid karyotype of the glioblastoma multiforme was more than the other two glial tumors.
