Abstract:

Objective To isolate and identify the phenotype and biological characteristics of mesenchymal stem cell derived from fetal heart. Methods Mononuclear cells from human fetal heart were collected by Percoll gradient centrifugation. The low density cells were cultivated and expanded in MSC media.Phenotype was analyzed by FACS flow cytometer and characteristics of the multipotent were observed. Results Human fetal heart MSCs were successfully cultivated and differentiated into osteoblast and adipose in vitro as the MSCs derived from fetal bone marrow. Conclusion Mesenchymal stem cells existing in human fetal heart and could be isolated by their adherent ability and should be as a novel source for tissue engineering and gene engineering.
