Abstract: The antiprogesterone mifepristone(RU486)was utilized for evaluating the effects on mouse oestrous cycle. Each mouse was injected into abdominal cavity with 1 mL RU486(2.5 mg/mL)(as experimental group)or 1 mL distilled water(as control group)respectively at the diestrus. After injection, the average days of oestrous cycle in animals of the experimental group changed from 5.3 to 11.2 d, whereas varied from 4.9 to 5.1 d in the control group. The changes of the length of the diestrus, proestrus and estrus were not clear, but the elongation of the metestrus was significant. These results showed that RU486 might exert some influences on the formation and regression of the corpus luteum.
